I think the best way is through making the people around you because the biggest disciples you first yet in life are those people around you. If am selling product X I believe the first niche should automatically be my neighbors who can advertise my product by word of mouth at free cost. Then I will start joining other markets.

From my experience the best way to present yourself to your customers is straight forward, professional and level headed. This way they understand you are trying to engage them on level ground. It is not always the product with which you provide the customer - but the service itself. Be a real person. Be yourself.
